What is a Shamanic Journey?
A shamanic journey is one of those things that can sound mysterious until you experience it. In reality, it can be a very gentle and grounded practice.
During a session, I use the steady beat of the drum to help you settle into a deeply relaxed, meditative state. You are awake, aware and in control throughout. From this quieter place, imagery, feelings, memories or insights may begin to arise. We call this the journey.
A connection to an older way of listening
For me, shamanic work is deeply connected with nature, ancestry and the old ways of understanding ourselves. My own training has been through Celtic Shamanism Ireland under Martin Duffy at Dunderry, Co. Meath, with further study in areas including past life regression, psychic defence and shamanic counselling.
I do not believe you need to arrive with any special knowledge or expectation. Often the most useful thing is simply curiosity and an intention. You might be looking for clarity around a situation, feeling stuck in a pattern, or simply feeling called to explore this work.
No two journeys are the same. Some are vivid, some are subtle, and sometimes the meaning becomes clearer afterwards as you allow the experience to settle.
If you feel curious about shamanic work, you are very welcome to come and experience it in the calm space here at Loinnir. Book a Shamanic Healing session and we can begin gently from wherever you are.
